Welcome to the Pensacola Vegetarian Society home page. We have a monthly vegetarian and vegan potluck on the third Saturday of the month. Bring a dish with no meat, fish or fowl. We also have a raw potluck on the first Saturday of the month. Raw is food not heated above 118 degrees. This is the temperature at which enzymes start to break down. Our potlucks are a time to come together and share good food with others who are interested in vegetarian, vegan and raw diets, and those who just want to be able to add healthier dishes to their diet. You do not have to be a vegetarian to attend.
The website is designed to be a resource. We will be adding information such as where to shop in Pensacola, good cookbooks (or recipe books for those on a raw diet who do not ‘cook’), ingredient sources, food substitutions, recipes, and places to eat in Pensacola.
